EduLib announces the release of Muse® Proxy 3.1, that is available for download, starting 3rd of October 2013. The version 3.1 of Muse® Proxy brings an improved Administrator Console, Java API for rewriting filters as well as many other new features and bug fixes.
Muse® Proxy is a highly customizable multi-platform proxy server, easy to use and configure, acting successfully as a gateway to authenticated restricted content, rewriting web server, Web Access Management (WAM), proxy server and reverse proxy. It has been used for more than 10 years within the Muse Federated Search Platform to manage the authentication to resources and the navigation to full text, by restoring the server session on end-user browser.
The major feature in Muse® Proxy 3.1 is the Muse® Proxy Administrator Console which was improved to no longer load the entire page for every action. The actions are run now using AJAX code and the current page loaded is updated dynamically without being needed a full page reload. Many changes were done into its web interface because all the links from the page needed to be transformed into AJAX calls, giving to the user a greater experience.
Muse® Proxy 3.1 has also many other features like the addition of ‘MuseSourceID’ filter. This filter extracts the ‘MuseSourceID’ CGI parameter from a rewritten URL and stores it into the Navigation Session. For a target site accessed using that Navigation Session, there will be activated only the rewriting filters matching that Source ID. This improves the rewriting response time of Muse Proxy.
Another feature consists in the Muse Proxy Java API released for creating rewriting filters. It can be used by customers to create, build and deploy their own rewriting filters.
A lot more information regarding the above mentioned features and fixes, as well as other changes and additions made in Muse® Proxy 3.1 are available for download in Muse® Proxy Release Notes PDF Document.
