ID #1100

In the console, why are we suddenly seeing messages (warnings/errors/notices) from Muse servers that we usually see in the logs?

The cause of this behavior is related to file permissions. Some Muse log files are owned by the Y user (member of YGROUP) and the Muse servers are run by the X (member of XGROUP) user which does not have "write" rights on files owned by Y.

To solve this, please execute a change owner command, like the following:

  • login as root
  • go to $MUSE_HOME
  • chown -R X:XGROUP .

A restart of the Muse servers is required once this change is made.
