ID #1095

Which install file should I choose -- the muse-setup.jar or the .bin file corresponding to my O/S? What are the differences?

If you are installing Muse for the first time on a server, we recommend that you use the ".bin" file which references the relevant Operating System (if there is one).  For example, if installing on a SUN Sparc server, you'd select "muse-solaris-sparc.bin".

If upgrading, or if you don't see your selected operating system available, or if in doubt, select the "muse-setup.jar" file.

You'll get the same result either way, but the .bin file is more complete at setting up environment variables (on a first time installation) than the .jar file is.
