Features

Multiple Content Sources (Federated Sources and Local Index Sources), Same Search Query, Single Integrated List

Hybrid Search systems search all Federated Sources and Local Index Sources at a time and present the information to the user in a normalized format. Thus, the user’s effort is much smaller than interpreting these results presented by each source in its own format. Another aspect is that the user doesn’t have to know the syntax for various search queries of each content source – only the Muse search query syntax.

Flexible Configuration

The Muse® Administrator Consoles and Muse Control Center are the tools used to administer Muse® Hybrid. Via Muse® Administrator Consoles are managed the search sources to search the local indexed collections and via Muse Control Center is managed the metadata ingestion process into Muse Central Index.

Ingesting Metadata

Publisher metadata is ingested into Muse Central Index from various delivery formats: MARC or MARC XML files, CSV, XLSX, XML (ex. JATS), IMS Common Cartridge, OAI-PMH. Muse Central Index can index Metadata for the following data types: Article, Book, Archival Document, Video, Journal, Abstract, Thesis, Conference Proceeding, Encyclopedia, Magazine, News, Map, Electronic Resource, Archival Document, but it is not limited just to them.

Titles A to Z

New features are available via Muse Central Index such as Titles A to Z.
